Sonia arrives in Tripura

Agartala, Feb 18 (UNI) Congress president and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi arrived at the Agartala airport at 1210 hours today.

Mrs Gandhi, who was scheduled to arrive at 0930 hours was accompanied by Union Minister Prithviraj Chavan, state Pradesh Congress President Samir Ranjan Barman and state election committee chairman Sudhir Ranjan Majumder.

Soon after her arrival, she immediately left for Dharmanagar, the northern most part of the state, in a helicopter.

Former TPCC president and senior party leader Birajit Sinha welcomed the UPA chairperson there.

She will be addressing an election rally there and will return here to address another.
