Red Ribbon Express arrives at Tatanagar railway station
Jamshedpur, Feb 18 (UNI) In a bid to spread awareness among the rural masses about HIV/AIDS, the Red Ribbon Express arrived at the Tatanagar railway station here today.
East Singhbhum district Deputy Commissioner Nitin Mandan Kulkarni received the train, which came from Ranchi, by waving the green flag.
The special train, in which seven coaches are attached for treatment of the patients and for conference, is being run jointly by the All India Aids Organisantion, Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and Nehru Youth Centre.
After halting for two days, the train would proceed to Chaibasa on February 20 and it would reach Dhanbad on February 23.
A 50-member team is travelling by the train which would cover 180 stations across the country and create awareness about the disease in 43,200 villages during its journey, official sources said.
