Nodal agency for Sub-Plan implementation

Hyderabad, Feb 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Minister P Subhash Chandra Bose today said the government has set up a nodal agency for the implementation of Schedule Caste and Scheduled Tribe (ST) Sub-Plan.

Replying on the discussion of 'constitution of nodal agency to oversee the implementation of the Sub-Plan' in the Council, Mr Bose said the agency was given special powers to re-appropriate the non-utilised funds in the departments and divert it to the needy departments.

Stating that the government had sanctioned 16.2 per cent of the total state budget for the welfare of SCs and STs, he said Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy also directed the departments concerned to utilise the funds allocated in the budget.
