Nat consultation on training policy to be held Feb 20-21
New Delhi, Feb 18 (UNI) A two-day national consultation on Development of Training Policy in India which is expected to lay the roadmap for developing a training policy in India, is being held here from February 20 here.
Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia will deliver the inaugural address while Labour and Employment Minister Oscar Fernandes will participate. Ms S Yamamoto, ILO Regional Director for Asia and Pacific, will also address the inaugural session.
The event is being organised by International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the Labour and Employment Ministry in collaboration with Korea University of Technology and Education.
It aims to highlight the importance of skills development in the country in view of India's high economic growth and demographic dividend. The challenge of skills development has been underlined by the Prime Minister himself. Several task forces and working groups have been set up by the Planning Commisison during the preparation of the 11th Plan.
