BJP asks EC to take cognisance of Bharadwaj's statement
New Delhi, Feb 18 (UNI) The BJP today asked the Election Commission to take cognisance of the statement of Union Law Minister H R Bhardwaj promising the setting up of a High Court in Shillong for North East, at a time when three states were going to the polls.
BJP spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy said that the EC should take note of the statement at a time when Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura were facing election and ''the North-Eastern states cannot be allowed to be treated shabbily.'' The Election Commission should say how ''far the promise is fair when three of the states in the North-East were facing elections.'' UNI MCN PJ RP HS1737
