Bank files on 20,000 people dumped in abandoned building

London, Feb.18 : Sensitive bank-related information of about 0,000 people has been found dumped in a hippy squat.

The building is located in Crouch End, North London, and the aringey Council files - many stamped "Confidential" - date from he 1980s to 1993.

According to The Sun, the documents included names, phone numbers nd addresses, dates of birth, pay slips, bank forms and details f private interviews with benefit claimants.

They were found in a cupboard at derelict offices where 100 quatters hold boozy raves.

Amid the empty bottles and cans, The Sun even discovered one erson's share options and another's immigration details.

Fraud expert Tom Craig said last night: "This is serious personal nformation - a treasure trove for ID thieves. All the data you eed is there for ID theft or to clone someone else's identity."

The former Scotland Yard fraud cop added: "It beggars belief that he council would simply vacate a building and leave this private nformation in a cupboard under the stairs."

Local MP Lynne Featherstone is demanding the council write to veryone in the files to alert them to the risk they face.
