AP CM urges Centre to accord classical status to Telugu
Hyderabad, Feb 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today urged the Center to accord classical language status to Telugu.
An official release here said Dr Reddy spoke to Union Minister for Tourism and Cultural Affairs Ambica Soni over phone and urged her to do the needful in this regard.
A high-level meeting is scheduled on February 20 in New Delhi to discuss the issue.
Dr Reddy had already written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the issue.
