UNPA rally in Mulayam's home district tomorrow

Etawah, Feb 17 (UNI) Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav today visited his home district here to take stock of the arrangements being made for the United National Progressive Alliance's (UNPA) rally tomorrow.

Mr Yadav, also the UNPA chairman, visited the 'Numaish maidan,' where the rally was being organised, sources said.

Lakhs of people were expected to assemble in the rally, sources informed, adding buses, tractors and jeeps had been hired to bring people from the neighbouring villages and districts.

As Etawah happens to be the native district of the SP chief, he was leaving no stone unturned to make it a success.

Posse of police had also been called up for security cover.

Several alliance leaders, including Chandra Babu Naidu, Om Prakash Chautala, Babu Lal Marandi and Farukh Abdula were expected to be present in the rally.
