Summers appear closer than expected
New Delhi, Feb 17 (UNI) Summer appears to be closer with mercury showing a rising pattern since last week, according to weather department here today.
The mercury rose three degrees above the normal, registering at 26.8 degrees Celsius today. The minimum too was two degrees up, stopping at 11.7 degrees.
It was in stark contrast with the cold nights until Friday when the minimum had plummeted to 5.7 degrees, about four degrees below normal.
Although it is a respite from the chill staying for longer than usual, the pattern in rise of temperature is ominous.
Weatherman said the minimum temperature in the national capital could hover around 10 degrees, accompanied by gusty winds in the morning.
The sky would be clear for a change, he added further.
Maximum and minimum humidity were registered at 90 and 35 respectively. The Met office ruled out any possibility of rain during next 24 hours.
