Raj Thackeray should be booked for treason: LJP
Jaunpur, Feb 17 (UNI) Taking note of the attacks on the North Indians, following Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray's statements, the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) today said the former should be booked for ''treason.'' Uttar Pradesh LJP state unit spokesperson Raj Kumar Ojha said he has faxed a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in this regard.
''The 'anti-North Indian' remarks of Mr Thackeray resulted in mayhem across Maharashtra...it is akin to treason and therefore, I demand he should be booked for the same,'' Mr Ojha maintained.
Even Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh failed to take any concrete steps on time, resulting in attacks on the North Indians, he charged, adding Maharashtra would be emptied, if migrants from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar returned back to their respective states.
