PM, Sonia Gandhi likely to visit Nagaland

Kohima, Feb 17: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi are likely to visit Nagaland for poll campaigns ahead of the March 5 Assembly elections.

Congress sources said here today that Ms Gandhi was likely to address a public rally at Dimapur on February 23 and Dr Singh would also address a public rally on March 1. Some Senior Congress leaders would also participate in the election campaign. Meanwhile, National Security Advisor M K Narayanan, presently in the state, reviewed the security arrangements for the proposed visit of the Prime Minister and Mrs Gandhi.

He met Nagaland Governor K.Sankaranarayanan, his two Advisors, the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police yesterday and is scheduled to meet top Army officials to review the security scenario in the state today.
