IB minister accuses Bangladesh of harbouring militants
Agartala, Feb 17 (UNI) Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi today accused Bangladesh of harboring Indian militants in its territory.
Addressing mediapersons here, the Union minister also asserted that the Centre has been continuously exerting pressure on the Bangladesh counterpart to evict them.
''There are some definite pockets in Bangladesh and Pakistan, where these ultras were being trained. Our external affairs ministry is closely monitoring the development,''he added.
Tripura shares 857 kms of border with that country and militancy has disturbed the area since late seventies.
He also said that the alleged nexus between political parties and the outlawed groups is one of the key issues in the February 23 state Assembly polls.
