BJP leader writes to Jaipal Reddy over de-sealing

New Delhi, Feb 17 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) leader Subhash Arya shot off a letter today to Central Urban development Minister Jaipal Reddy to clear confusion over ambit of the properties to be de-sealed.

Mr Arya expressed displeasure over, what he called, a temporary relief to the people. He said, ''if the de-sealing had been meant for all the properties sealed, the people would have been happier.'' He sought Mr Reddy's attention to the need for changes in the master plan. Unless the suitable changes were made, he added, the people might not save their houses from demolition.

Although he sought to give the government benefit of doubt by blaming the committees for the chaos, the BJP leader called for Mr Reddy's intervention.

However, Mr Arya also called upon him to consider extending 'cover of general amnesty' to the people on the lines of Malhotra panel.
