BJP delegation to meet CEC for early polls in K'taka
Bangalore, Feb 17 (UNI) A BJP delegation led by former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will meet the Chief Election Commissioner in New Delhi to press for election to the State Assembly in May.
According to party sources here, the delegation will be meeting the CEC tomorrow and submit a memorandum in this regard.
''It is not late even now for the Election Commission to gear up for holding polls in the State before May 27, based on the implementation of Delimitation Commission report,'' sources added.
The BJP was demanding that the elections be held in May, as the six month term of President's rule in the state would come to an end.
However, as demanded by Congress, the party would not face any adverse situation even if the elections were held in November.
