Bitta demands stern action against Raj
Gwalior, Feb 17 (UNI) All-India Anti-Terrorist Front Chairman Maninderjit Singh Bitta today demanded stern action against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena President Raj Thackeray.
''Mr Thackeray's statement against northern Indians is drama for popularity in view of elections. The Maharashtra regime is not taking strict action. I demand a Central Bureau of Investigation probe. If such regionalism goes unchecked then it will spread to other states and that will prove dangerous for the country and society,'' he alleged to mediapersons here.
Maintaining that certain political parties raised issues such as regionalism and casteism for votes, he called for fresh legislation to tackle such cases.
''An anti-terrorist military court should be formed for punishing militants in six months,'' Mr Bitta added.
On the Sethusamudram Project, he claimed that he would not permit the Ram Sethu's demolition irrespective of the cost.
