90,000 people gain from CMRF scheme
Hyderabad, Feb 17 (UNI) About 90,000 poor people in Andhra Pradesh are benefitted from Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) scheme, by obtaining Rs 290 crore for their medical treatment.
According to an official release here, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said that several crores of rupees were sanctioned to the applicants daily, after discussing with the officials concerned.
Stating that the beneficiaries were selected irrespective of caste, creed and political party, Dr Reddy said the donated money was exempted from income tax.
He claimed that the fund would reach the beneficiaries within six hours, after processing.
He directed the officials to adopt transparency while sanctioning the money from the CMRF.
