Three arrested and later remanded in Rakesh murder case

Barrackpore, Feb 16 (UNI) Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Gopal Karmakar today remanded three persons, arrested in connection with the murder of Shrachi executive Rakesh Gupta, to police custody till Feberuary 20.

Police said the arrest was made from three different places of North 24 Parganas.

While Chandan Bose was picked up from Subhasnagar under Khardah police station, Laxmi Chakrabarty from Dakshindari under Lake Town police station and Phoolmoni Chakrabarty from Yatragachhi under Rajarhat police station.

Gupta was murdered in an abandoned house under Ghola police station in North 24 Parganas five days ago.

Earlier, appearing on behalf of the accused advocate Sisir Guha Roy told the court that police arrested them on a false and fabricated case and pleaded for bail.

However, the Magistrate rejected the bail plea.
