Plea against Tendulkar dismissed
Indore, Feb 16 (UNI) A local court dismissed a petition seeking action against master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar for allegedly dishonouring the national flag by cutting a tricolour cake in West Indies, last year.
Special Judge M Shamim rejected the petition yesterday, saying the Centre had not given permission relating to an incident that took place in a foreign country.
Local-resident Rajesh Bidkar had filed a petition against Tendulkar as he had reportedly cut the cake with a tricolour icing, during last year's cricket World Cup in West Indies.
Petitioner's advocate Rajendra Sharma said Centre's permission was necessary in issues relating to a foreign country only. The option remained open to approach a higher court, he added.
