No one can block Hydro project works: Balan

Palakkad, Feb 16 (UNI) Kerala Electricity Minister A K Balan today refuted reports that the contractors for the modernization of Panniyar Power House had withdrawn.

The reports to this effect were baseless and the modernisation programme of the Panniyar Power House was going forward and everything was transparent, he told reporters here.

Referring to the Athirapally hydro-electric project, he said no one could stall the project.

Referring to environmentalist and poet Sugathakumari's letter to UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on the project, Mr Balan said neither she nor Ms Sonia Gandhi could hinder the implementation of the project.
