Manipur stalls in North East trade Expo draws big crowd

New Delhi, Feb 16 (UNI) Unlike previous North East Trade Expos organised by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern States (DoNER) at the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) Exhibition Ground, here, the ongoing fifth North East Trade Expo may attract a large number of people of the of unique products from Manipur.

The Officer-in charge of the Manipur Stalls Shantakumar Singh from the Directorate of Commerce and Industries said the average daily sale of Manipur stall ranged from Rs 8000 to Rs 10,000. Food products like passion fruit juice, organic turmeric and ginger powders, mushroom and handicrafts products like cane and bamboo items, dry flowers, woodcrafts were the centre of attraction of the visitors.

Twenty seven industrial units from Manipur were participating in the Expo which commenced from February 8 and will continue till February 18. Out of the 27 units, 12 units were from Imphal West district, 11 from Imphal East District and one each from Ukhrul District, Thoubal District, Churachandpur District and Senapati District.
