Jammu, Feb 16 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today said the all round and equitable development had remained the focus of his government in the state.

After laying the foundation stone of Rs 4.91 crore Yatri Niwas building, Mr Azad said the far-flung and hitherto neglected areas had been given attention. ''State-of-the-art infrastructure is being put in place to ensure equitable and balanced development of all the areas,'' he said.

Road connectivity, drinking water, power supply, education and healthcare facilities were also given priority to completely transform development profile of the state, the Chief Minister added.

Referring to the promotion of tourism sector in J&K, Mr Azad said 19 tourism development authorities have been set up across the state, to develop modern tourism infrastructure and uplift socio-economic conditions of the people.

The Chief Minister called upon public representatives, opinion leaders, intellectuals and prominent citizens to create greater awareness among people for keeping both the capital cities of the state -- Jammu and Srinagar -- as well as other cities and towns clean and beautiful for better living environment.
