ISI agent held with army documents
Pune, Feb 16 (UNI) The anti-extortion cell of the city police last evening arrested an ISI agent and recovered secret documents of the Army and three mobiles from him.
Acting on a tip off, the Police arrested the ISI agent Shailesh Jadhav as he had come to hand over the documents to another ISI agent Mohammad Sayyed Desai at Hotel Sagar near Pune Station.
Jadhav, who hails from Wai in Satara District, was earlier with the Indian Army, but was dismissed from service after a court martial. He was lodged in Yerawada Jail where he came in contact with Desai. Jadhav was released two years ago but remained in touch with Desai. The two were in touch with one Tayaf an ISI official, Jadhav confessed during interrogations.
It may be recalled that Desai escaped from police custody on January 23. Although the court had released him, his papers and documents were still in process. After escaping he had sought shelter at Jadhav's residence, police said.
Jadhav has been booked under the Official Secrets Act, 349 and 120B.
