INC signs MoU to set up consortium for PhD in nursing
Bangalore, Feb 16 (UNI) The Indian Nursing Council (INC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the city-based Rajiv Gandhi University and World Health Organisation (WHO) to develop a National Consortium for PhD in Nursing for the first time in the country.
Speaking at a seminar on Nursing Practice here today, INC president and Nursing Advisor to Government of India T Dileep Kumar said the Council had adopted 'Thailand Model' for the purpose.
After consultation with experts and premier nursing institutions, INC had developed syllabus for PhD in Nursing, he said.
INC had adopted modern teaching methods including video-conference through which lectures would be delivered. So far INC had admitted three batches with 30 students each.
The consortium methodology had been appreciated by the WHO and now many overseas candidates were approachig INC for admission, he said.
