Four held for smuggling beer cans

Chennai, Feb 16 (UNI) Police arrested four people, including the manager of a transport lorry booking office, for illegally procuring beer cans from New Delhi and supplying them to hotels here.

Acting on an information, a police team raided the transport office at Chintadripet area in the city and found 25 cardboard boxes, which did not have valid documents.

On opening the boxes, the officials found 350 ml beer cans, sent from New Delhi and effected the seizure.

Office manager Amit Tagore and three other staff, Sanniyan, Krishnamoorthy and Suresh were arrested on charges of smuggling and supplying these cans to local hotels here.
