Four dacoits nabbed
Ashoknagar, MP, Feb 16 (UNI) Four members of an inter-state gang, involved in committing bank dacoities, were arrested by a joint team of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh police following an encounter in Lucknow.
''A police team cordoned off Faizabad road in the Uttar Pradesh capital and nabbed Ashok Tripathi, Gunna Mishra, Sudhakar Mishra and Bablu Pande yesterday. The accused hailed from Uttar Pradesh's Allahabad and Chitrakoot districts,'' Ashoknagar Superintendent of Police Raman Singh Sikarwar said.
The foursome were wanted in connection with bank dacoities in four banks and two other places in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
Three countrymade guns, as many mobile phones and a motorcycle were seized from them.
A police team had been sent to Uttar Pradesh on the basis of information of the involvement of the gang in a bank dacoity in Dhakoni village last year.
The gang had looted Rs 2.50 lakh from the bank in Dhakoni village and Rs 1.50 lakh each from two banks in Madhya Pradesh's Katni district.
Besides, the accused had looted Rs nine lakh from a bank in Chhattisgarh's Koreya district. It had also committed loot at two places in Raipur's Sarafa market area.
