Congress leaders from Bihar to visit Mumbai
Patna, Feb 16 (UNI) Senior Bihar Congress leaders would visit Mumbai in the wake of the violence against the Hindi-speaking people there.
Party spokesman Premchand Mishra here told UNI here today that a Congress committee meeting on the issue had decided to send state president Sadanand Singh, Legislature party leader Ashok Kumar, leader in Legislative Council Mahachandra Prasad Singh and Central Ministers Meera Kumar, Dr Shakil Ahmed, besides Nikhil Kumar, MP, to Mumbai.
The delegation would meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilas Rao Deshmukh, Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil and leaders of major political parties in the state to express their concern and ensure safety and security of the Hindi-speaking people living in Maharashtra.
He further informed that the delegation would also meet Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and party president Sonia Gandhi in Delhi to express their concern on the issue so that such incident did not recur.
