CM urged to include Yadavas in Backward community list
Tiruchirapalli, Feb 16 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Yadavas Rights Retrieval Struggle Committee today appealed to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to include the Yadava community in the most Backward community list and provide exclusive reservation in education and job opportunities.
Talking to newspersons here, Committee President Elango Yadav said there were about one crore members of Yadava community in Tamil Nadu and most of them were economically and socially Backward.
They were denied due recognition for the last 19 years, he said.
To draw the state government's attention into the matter, it was proposed to hold a state level conference on April 27, he said, adding similar conferences would be held in 50 other places in the state subsequently.
''We will post 50 lakh post cards to the Chief Minister from May one, requesting his intervention in the matter,''he said.
He also appealed to DMK President M Karunanidhi and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa to give representation for their community in the ensuing elections to the Rajya Sabha.
