Budget does not give priority to BC welfare : Naidu
Hyderabad, Feb 16 (UNI) The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President and Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said the 2008-09 State Budget would not help uplift the poor Backward Class (BC) Communities.
Speaking to newspersons here, Mr Naidu alleged that the government did not pay attention towards the welfare of the BC, SC, ST and Minority communities.
BC welfare was not given priority by the Congress-ruled State Government since 2004, he added.
CPM Floor Leader in the Assembly N Narasiah said the government had allocated only Rs 4,000 crore for the welfare of BC and other communities out of Rs one lakh crore Budget presented in the Assembly by Finance Minister K Rosaiah.
CPI Floor Leader Ch Venkat Reddy said the government had allocated funds for 'Rs 2 per kg rice' scheme to woo the voters in the elections to be held in early 2009.
