'Bidi' clinkers kill two

Chhatarpur, MP, Feb 16 (UNI) In a freak accident, two people were killed on the spot when a motorcycle's petrol tank exploded after the cinder of a smouldering bidi fell into it.

The incident took place at the Vamhari area of this district yesterday, police said.

Gopal Ahirwar (46) and Bablu (16), residents of Karbai area in Uttar Pradesh's Mahoba district, went to Ghathari village on a motorcycle to attend a religious function.

On their return journey, they stopped the vehicle near Digra hills to check the petrol. Gopal was smoking a bidi when he opened the tank. Accidentally the cinder of the bidi fell into the tank, which caught fire and exploded at once.

Gopal was blown up while Bablu, who was standing at a distance, also came under its impact and the duo died on the spot.
