8 held in Jodha Akbar protest

Indore, Feb 16 (UNI) Eight people, including two women, were arrested for vandalising a multiplex in a bid to protest controversial movie Jodha Akbar with a historical backdrop here this morning.

Superintendent of Police Anshuman Yadav said some people reached local Velocity Multiplex to mark their protest against 'distorting history' in the film and pelted stones.

Multiplex's Director Sudhir Bindal said nominal loss was caused due to the incident. A case has been registered in the police in this regard.

The film was being screened in all seven cinema halls amid tight security. Members of the Kshatriya Samaj had staged a demonstration against the film and burned its posters yesterday.

Two prominent multiplex network Inox and Adlabs have so far maintained distance from screening the Hrithik-Aishwarya starrer.
