61 MoUs worth Rs 56,829 crore inked in Investors' Meet

Bhopal, Feb 16 (UNI) Sixty-one Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to the tune of Rs 56,829 crore were signed at the two-day Jabalpur Investors' Meet TRIFAC in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Out of these 44 MoUs to the tune of Rs 30,956 crore were signed for setting up industries based on iron ore, steel, energy appliances, food processing, cement, sponge-iron, aluminum and manganese processing, sugar, waste recycling, granite and stone.

Five MoUs worth Rs 24,620 crore were inked in energy sector. In the food processing sector, nine investment proposals worth Rs 903 crore were inked for jatropha, herbs and cultivation of medicinal plants on barren lands, bio-diesel and Food Park.

Likewise, MoUs worth Rs 350 crore were inked in information technology sector for establishing IT units in special economic zones, an official release said here today.

Earlier, 102 MoUs worth Rs 1.20 lakh crore were inked at the Indore Global Summit and 18 MoUs worth Rs 39,000 crore were signed at Khajuraho.

After including results of this meet, a total of 181 investment proposals worth Rs 2.16 lakh crore between the government and various industrial groups have been reached.

Managing director Praveen Garg signed MoUs on behalf of TRIFAC, while energy sector MoUs were inked by Energy Secretary Sanjay Bandopadhyay.

As many as 300 investors had come to Jabalpur Investors' Meet from outside the state. Twenty delegates had arrived from Hong Kong, the UK, Canada and Ireland. Besides, 200 new entrepreneurs from Vindhya, Mahakaushal and Bundelkhand regions also took part in the meet.

Those present at the concluding function of the Meet included Industry Minister Jayant Malaiya, Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi, IT and Public Works Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Minister of State for Pisciculture Moti Kashyap, Jabalpur Mayor Shrimati Susheela Singh, MP Rakesh Singh and Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahni, the release added.
