Former MCC area commander killed
Latehar, Feb 14 (UNI) CPI (Maoist) ultras today gunned down a former self-styled area commander of Maoist Communist Centre (MCC) at Marma village under Barbati panchayat in the district.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Saryu Baitha said here that the deceased, identified as Mandwadi Ganju, was picked up by the CPI (Maoist) ultras from his residence and beaten up.
He was then taken near a pond on the outskirts of the village and shot dead as the ultras suspected Ganju of working as a police informer.
Ganju, initially with the MCC, joined the banned Tritiya Prastuti Committee, a rival group of the CPI (Maoist).
