Five killed in jeep-bus collision

Madikeri, Karnataka, Feb 15 (UNI) Five persons-- a police constable and four labourers-- were killed on the spot and seven others injured when a jeep collided with a bus at Aigoor near Somwarpet, near here today.

Among the deceased, police had identified only constable Ashok.

Eye witnesses said the constable was driving a private jeep and he gave a lift to the labourers waiting for a bus.

While three were seriously injured and taken to Mysore and Mangalore, four others were admitted to a hospital at Somwarpet.
