Decision on Commission report after considering CACP views
Hyderabad, Feb 15 (UNI) The Centre will decide on the recommendations of the M S Swaminathan Commission to fix the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all agricultural commodities for 2008-09 after studying the proposals, Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister N Raghuveera Reddy told the Legislative Council today.
Replying to a question from Mr P Raghunatha Reddy (TDP), he said the State Government had submitted the proposals to the Commission for Agriculture Costs and Prices (CACP).
Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, after reviewing the woes of turmeric growers, directed the Agriculture department to provide Rs 3,000 as MSP for per quintal of turmeric this year, he said.
