AP CM to meet Central ministers for crop loss aid
Hyderabad, Feb 15 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy will meet Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil and Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar to apprise them of the crop loss in the recent rains and to seek immediate Central assistance, tomorrow.
Dr Reddy would seek a special package for the farmers of the worst-affected areas. Crops were damaged in Prakasam, Krishna, Visakhaptnam, Srikakulam, Guntur and Nellore districts.
The Centre had deputed a team, led by Directorate of Tobacco Development Board, Chennai, Director K Manoharan to assess the crop damage, a release said.
