2 killed, 8 injured as jeep overturns

Ballia, Feb 15 (UNI) At least two people were killed and eight others severely injured after a jeep, carrying them, over turned near village Rampur Kodhara in the early hrs here today.

The accident occurred in Dokati area, when the driver of the jeep, en route from Bhojpur district in Bihar to Ballia, lost control over the wheels.

While two people died on the spot, others were battling for life at hospital.

The dead were identified as jeep driver Kamlesh Yadav (22) and Shiv Kumar Ram (45).

According to police, the jeep was ferrying a band party, which was returning after Saraswati Puja in Bihar.

Bodies had been sent for post-mortem.
