Voluntary organisation for transexuals

Puducherry, Feb 14 (UNI) Transexuals in Villupuram and Puducherry would be a transformed lot in the near future with a voluntary organisation coming forward to give them training in self-employment.

Concerned with their plight, the voluntary organisation 'Samam' invited 12 transexuals from Villupuram and began a two-day training programme yesterday at Bahour near here, so that they in turn could train others and earn a decent living.

A participant in the training programme told newspersons that 'Samam' along with a Christian organisation was giving them training in manufacturing soap, mosquito repellent among others and this would definitely improve the lives of those who were not properly recognized by the society.
