Two militants arrested in Kashmir; hideout busted

Srinagar, Feb 14 (UNI) Two militants were arrested and a hideout was busted and a huge cache of arms and ammunition recovered in the Kashmir valley overnight, a defence ministry spokesman said today.

He said troops of 62 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a joint operation at Khajapur in Shopian district of south Kashmir. During the operation a four feet by three feet hideout was unearthed.

The arms and ammunition recovered included UBGL-27, ICOM Radios Set-02, Antenna ICOM set-07, Electric timed device detonator-15, IED frame-02, detonators-16 and other war like stores. However, no one was arrested.

He said in another search operation by 7 RR at Uttarsu in Anantnag district troops arrested two militants who were later handed over to police for further questioning.
