TNSRC to hold sittings in all districts

Tiruchirapalli, Feb 14: The Tamil Nadu Social Reforms Committee (TNSRC) formed to suggest the government on social reform policies will hold sittings in all the districts of the state to elicit public opinion.

Committee chairman M Nannan, soon after its sitting here yesterday told newspersons that the dates for the sittings would be notified in advance so that members of the public could air their views or grievances in writing on social evils.

After compiling the suggestions/grievances the committee would make appropriate recommendations to the government, he said adding that the committee plans to hold its next sitting in Erode during next month.

Untouchability was one of the major social evils that was before the committee, he said adding casteism and other forms of social problems were being discussed.
