Three of a family commits suicide in Howrah

Howrah, Feb 14 (UNI) Three people of a family allegedly committed suicide at their residence in Koibortyapara under Malipanchghora Police Station near here today.

Superintendent of Police Neeraj Kumar Singh said the body of one retired Ramesh Porel along with his wife and son was found lying on the floor.

A letter had been recovered from near the deceased, which stated they were forced to commit suicide for not having received pension and were undergoing mental trauma, police said.

However, Mr Singh did not rule out murder as the legs of Porel's wife and son were found tied up.

The bodies have been sent for post mortem and investigation was on to ascertain the cause of death.
