SDU Medical College to celebrate 'World Deaf Day' tomorrow

Kolar, Feb 14 (UNI) All India Institute Speech and Hearing, Mysore Director Dr Vijayalakshmi Basavaraj will deliver the keynote address at the 'World Deaf Day' organised by SDU Medical College here, Organising Secretary Dr Indira Narasimhan said today.

In a release here, he said that Sri Devaraj Urs University Pro Chancellor Dr C M Gurumurthy would present the Theme Paper and the University Vice Chancellor Dr Chandrashekar would preside over the function.

Many eminent Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeons, Speech Therapists, Audiologists, General practioners, School Teachers, representatives of NGOs would deliver talks covering various aspects of deafness.

Free ear check up camps will also be held along with Continuing Medical Education aimed at taking the message of preventive ear care to the young boys and girls by giving a talk at Schools.
