Rs 5.30 lakh looted from temple
Rajkot, Feb 14 (UNI) Valuables worth Rs 5.30 lakh were stolen from a 421-year-old temple near Lathi in Amreli district.
The assailants broke the lock of Bhukhariya Hanuman Temple and stole god Parswanath's idols made up of gold and silver, golden coconut and Rs 30,000 in cash totalling Rs 5.30 lakh, according to a complaint lodged by the temple priest, Janakrai Nimawat.
This is the second incident in Saurashtra region in the last 15 days that a temple has been targeted. On February 4, Ganteshar-Nageshwar Jain Temple on the ouskirts of the city was looted of cash, gold and silver idols totalling Rs 6.37 lakh.
