Natwar clarifies he has not been indicted in oil-for-food scam
New Delhi, Feb 14 (UNI) Former External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh, who announced his resignation from the Congress yesterday, today clarified that he had not been indicted in the Oil-for-Food Scam, as was mentioned in media reports from Jaipur.
The Justice Pathak Committee, which went into the scam, had clearly stated that there was no material to show that he derived any financial or other personal benefit from the oil contracts with Iraq, Mr Natwar Singh said in a statement.
Mr Natwar Singh announced his decision to quit the Congress yesterday, one-and-a- half year after he was suspended from the party.
