Nasscom global leaders awards presented

Mumbai, Feb 14 (UNI) Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata, British Airways Chief Executive Officer Willie Welsh and Cisco Chairman John Chambers were today awarded the global leadership awards 2008 of the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM).

While Mr Tata was recognised as the Global Indian leader, Mr Welsh won the Business transformation award and Mr Chambers, the global business leader award.

The awards were presented during the Nasscom leadership summit here by Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel.

None of the recipients were on hand to receive the award. While Mr Tata's award was received by Mr Ravi Kant, Managing Director for Tata sons, Cisco Chief Global officer Wim Elfrink received the award on behalf of Mr Chambers. For Mr Welsh, the Award was received by British Airways Board member Robert Webb.

The Award was conceptualised and presented by NASSCOM to recognise some of the most outstanding business leaders and visionaries from across the world and have emerged as India's highest honour and tribute to performance in the IT-BPO segment.
