Life back to normal in Mah no further violence reported

Mumbai, Feb 14 (UNI) No untoward incidents were reported after Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray's release on bail last evening.

The life of the country's commercial capital and other parts of the state is limping back to normal, the police said here today.

Taxi operators said that the North Indian drivers were back to work after a couple of days absence, as the situation is returning to normal. Office-goers particularly, North Indians, were also returning to their work.

However, taxi drivers refused to drive to the trouble-torn areas like Kalachowki, Dadar, Chembur, Borivali in the city late last night here.

Violence had erupted in the state over the arrest of Raj Thackeray last evening, allegedly for making inflammatory remarks against North Indians. Several vehicles including State Transport buses and BEST buses were damaged, and one person was killed at Nashik.

Few shops and other business establishments, which were forcibly closed last evening, opened this morning as usual.
