Idea adds 1.2 million new connections in 2007-08

Hyderabad, Feb 14 (UNI) Idea Cellular, a leading telecom service provider, today announced 1.2 million additions on its wireless network in 2007-08, the highest market share gain of 1.7 per cent seen across all telecom operators in Andhra Pradesh.

According to a press release here, the company had crossed over three million wireless subscribers in the State, taking the total wireless subscriber base across 11 operating circles to over 22 million mark.

State Chief Operating Officer Subbaraman Iyer said, ''this is a testimony to the quality services we offer to all customers. We are confident of maintaining the growth momentum in the coming days.'' This milestone was achieved due to the rapid rollout of network coupled with matching investments to expand the telecom infrastructure.
