The house, Laxmi Niwas, was situated on Plot number 19 in Bhaiyyawadi, a settlement of North Indians. The owner of the house, Brijbihari Sharma, had two wooden furniture workshops, which were also set on fire along with his house, sources said.

Nearly 30-40 people live in metal sheds adjacent to these shops, however no one was hurt in the incident as all of them had already left the place.
