Chargesheet against attackers of migrants in 8 days: Deshmukh
Mumbai, Feb 14 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today said the state will file chargesheet against the perpetrators of violence in eight days.
An assurance to this effect was given by Mr Deshmukh to Mumbai Region Congress Committee (MRCC) president Gurudas Kamat, who today led a delegation and met the Chief Minister. The delegation brought to the Chief Minister's notice, the speeches made by leaders of various parties and requested him to establish fast courts to handle such cases.
According to an official statement, the delegation thanked the government for the action taken against MNS chief Raj Thackeray and the Samajwadi Party (SP) state chief Abu Asim Azmi.
Mr Deshmukh also assured that the government would support migrant workers who come to Maharashtra for a living.
He also said the Maharashtrians are very accommodating, because of which people from other states flock here and Maharashtra is the only state that prints books in 7-8 Indian languages.
The Chief Minister also cautioned the people not to be affected by the visuals shown on the news channels, as they are misleading.
The delegation brought to the Chief Minister's notice, the speeches made by leaders of various parties and requested him to establish Fast Track courts to handle such cases.
