Caste politics dangerous: warns Gehlot
Jaipur, Feb 14 (UNI) AICC general secretary Ashok Gehlot today accused Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje of following a policy of divide and rule in the state by injecting caste venom in the society.
Addressing a press conference here, the former chief minister said the BJP's new found respect for Maharaja Soorajmal, the Jat king of Bharatpur, and Than Singh, were in keeping with an eye on votes. He also questioned the rationale behing the confining of celebration of the tri-centenary of Maharaja Soorajmmal by a particular community when a king is respcted by all sections of the people.
He said earlier the BJP government had promised the Gujjars ST status and ignited rivalry between them and Meenas in the state. The congress leader warned the BJP government of the dangers of fostering casteism for vote politics.
