AP Govt targets 8 lakh family planning operations in 2008
Hyderabad, Feb 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Health and Family Welfare Minister S Chandrasekhar today told the Legislative Council that the government would target eight lakh family planning operations in 2008 by allocating Rs 48.30 crore.
Replying to a question from Congress MLC KR Amos, he said the number of such operations performed during 2006-07 was 7.67 lakh.
The minister said the methods adopted to achieve the target were providing fixed day services in the family planning service centres and camps approach.
Family planning compensation amount for loss of wages was being paid to sterilisation acceptors as per the guidelines set by the Government, he said.
